Finding My Voice in Broken Glass

When I released Broken Glass on August 8th, I thought my work was done. The story had left my head and landed in readers’ hands—that felt like the end of the journey.

Then came the questions.

“Will there be an audiobook?”

“I’d love to hear the story read aloud.”

At first, I hesitated. I imagined hiring a narrator, someone with a polished studio voice. I was encouraged to do it myself and I really wasn't sure. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized: this story has always been personal. It’s lived with me for years. And if Broken Glass is about reclaiming voice and breaking silence, then it only feels right that I’m the one to tell it.

So, I’m narrating the audiobook myself.

It’s been surreal to sit with these pages again, but this time not as the writer or the editor— as the voice. Reading Nessira’s journey aloud has been emotional, even challenging, but also powerful. The story lands differently when it’s spoken; it feels raw in a new way.

And because I can’t keep it to myself, I want to share a glimpse with you. Click below to head to the Home page for a clip from one of the finished chapters.

The full audiobook is in production now, and I’m excited (and a little nervous) to share it with you when it’s ready. Thank you to everyone who asked for this—your encouragement gave me the push to step up to the mic.
